September is Suicide Prevention Month
GUN STORAGE CHECK WEEK® is a national campaign of NSSF®—The Firearm Industry Trade Association to encourage all gun owners to check their firearm storage practices and, if necessary, take action to MAKE SURE IT'S SECURE®.
Suicide is preventable. Secure gun storage can save lives.
Please honor National Suicide Prevention Month by checking on your firearm storage practices during GUN STORAGE CHECK WEEK®, Sept. 1–7.
Most firearm-related fatalities are suicide deaths. Firearm owners and family members can help save lives by making sure that a person in crisis cannot access a gun or other means of self-harm.

NSSF is working diligently to provide the firearm-owning community with education about preventing suicide. When guns are securely stored, you create ‘time and distance’ between a person in crisis and a lethal means. Interrupting access allows time for immediate thoughts of suicide to pass and connecting to care.
